Pizza Express at Brewery Square
Pizza Express founder Peter Boizot 1929 – 2018 “I’d like to think that all things in my life are concerned with love.” One of the most remarkable and impactful entrepreneurs and philanthropists of recent times, Peter threw open the doors of the first Pizza Express on Wardour Street, Soho, in 1965. With it, he revolutionised the UK restaurant scene forever bringing casual dining to the high street.
Our history
Our love affair with Italian food is long-term. In 1965, a wise man called Peter Boizot knew pizza in London could be better. So he shipped over an authentic oven from Italy, opened the first-ever Pizza Express and got to work serving the great pizza the UK deserved.
Fantastic food
When it comes to Pizza Express ingredients, we never compromise. After all, they’re the foundation for our great flavours. The same goes for our commitment to bringing fresh ideas to the table – whether in the form of the American Hot, Romana, or Leggera pizza, Dough Balls, or Peroni beer
A passion for music
The ingredients for a great dining out experience? Delicious food, friendly people and, crucially, great atmosphere. It’s an approach we’ve kept on our menu since our founder’s passion for jazz put it there.
Memorable moments
We like to create great experiences as much as we enjoy making fantastic pizzas. We trace our love of a good party back to our founder – Peter was a great host. His ‘party spirit’ lives on today at Pizza Express, with a variety of fun celebrations you can enjoy.
